Hey folks,

Our J8 and J7 Rippa grades start their season this Friday, with the club kitchen and bar open from 5.30pm — we’re encouraging all club members and families to come along and enjoy. Following that, our J1 to J6 grades kick off their season on Saturday, with our U9–U13 Rippa grades starting the following weekend. We’ve received this weekend’s “grade day draw” from North Harbour Rugby, so your coach should have been in touch with the details. If not, reach out and we’ll help you out.

A massive thanks to all our volunteer committee who have worked very hard over the last few months getting our 448 kids sorted into the 37 teams we have running this year. I’d also like to give a big shoutout to the team of volunteer coaches, managers, and referees who have put their hands up to make rugby happen. We are very proud as a club to have only one paid position (Club Manager), relying heavily on our volunteers who keep turning up year after year. Now it’s over to everybody else to do their bit on the sidelines!

Let's make sure we always keep the kids at the centre.  We want every child back next season, so keep your comments positive and remember it's their game, not ours.  Winning is much less important to them than compliments, playing well and being with their team mates.  Help keep everyone on the field safe and feel valued, no matter what their ability or who they play for.  Let the refs do their job - always assume good intentions and accept they will make mistakes.

Thanks to everyone that made it down to our Family Day.  It was a great afternoon of rugby and fun.  The next big event on the junior calendar is our Leavers fundraiser Band Night on the 23rd of May with tickets available now via this link followed by our Quiz night on the 13th of June, so get your teams together - tickets are available now via this link.

Our senior teams have made another great start to their season. Families and kids are more than welcome to enjoy a Saturday afternoon and evening at the club. The next home game against Silverdale is Saturday 10th of May at 2.45pm, it’s a great excuse for the kids to use their drink cards they’ve been given by their coaches.

Finally, we have a fantastic new range of club gear — including supporter gear — available from today! This includes our club shorts and socks, all of which can be purchased via the link.

Go The Shore...Pride of the union!
