North Shore Rugby Club E-News: 25/4/25

But first, a quick recap of the past week...

Our Babcock Senior Women’s team went down 21–43 to a strong Manurewa side on Saturday. There were standout performances from the Onesemo twins, Holly Williams, and Izzy — giving the team and supporters plenty to be excited about for the rounds ahead.

Our U85s had a hard-fought battle against Silverdale. The 0–33 scoreline doesn't reflect the intensity and fight shown — a couple of late tries blew the score out, but make no mistake, this team is cooking up something special.

Speaking of special, our U21s took things to the next level, putting on a terrific display of rugby in both attack and defence, running out solid 50–7 winners.

On a more sobering note, Mahu’s struggles were evident across the grades. Their players, coaches, and management deserve huge credit for fronting up, but the challenges they face are concerning — no U21 team, a Game On (11-a-side) fixture in Prem 2 (won by Shore), and only 20 players available for Prem 1 (which ended in a 98–12 Shore win). Not a great sign for Mahu or the competition overall.

Looking ahead...

On a much brighter note — Junior Rugby kicks off this weekend!North Shore is proud to present J7 and J8 grades every Friday night under lights at home! Catering and bar service will be open from 5:30pm. Sure, you could head into town — but why not come down to the club, grab a lemonade, watch the next generation play the game we love, and catch up with your club mates?

On Saturday, our other junior grades kick off at Vauxhall, with the U85s wrapping up the day at 2:45pm vs Massey.

Prems are away at Helensville (2:45pm)

Development side are at Glenfield (1:00pm)

U21s are at Onewa vs Takapuna (1:00pm)
