But before that, a recap of the weekend just gone:

• The big downpour! Friday night for our 150 Junior J7 / J8 players had the lights - but also under the big wet. The heavy rain arrived right on kick off and within 15 minutes the pitches were a swimming pool. The kids had 10 minutes of rugby; 20 minutes of swimming and spent the rest of the evening eating hot chips in the club and warming up. Better luck this Friday…

• The rest of the junior club kicked off an Saturday. They were joined at Vauxhall by a group from the Blues as well as our Prem Mens side (and a Hairy (or was that scary?!) goat)) - who got around the junior teams playing at home and cheered them on.
• The U21 match v Massey was certainly game of the week. A nail biter with the Pride getting up by 1 point in the dying minutes!
• The women had a close loss against Auckland Marist; the U85s a stella win v Northcote (this team is onto something I tell ya); and our Development and Prem side took out Silverdale.
• Finally 5 blazers were awarded that night including one to our newest Life member Chris Mitchell, and our first ever to our Women – Armani Lam.

This weekend

• Friday night Rip rugby for our J7 and J8 players. Bar open from 5.30pm

  Saturday sees:

  • Our Women at Silverdale (away) (2:45pm)

  • U85s at home v Glenfield (2:45pm)

  • Our Prem and Development side at home v Northcote (1:00pm and 2:45pm respectively)

  • And in a quirk of the draw our U21 also v Northcote (away) at 1pm. (Why this game could not be scheduled at home befuddles me).
