It doesn’t get much bigger this early in the season, with North Shore heading up to Onewa Domain on Saturday for a top-of-the-table clash against Takapuna in both the Premier A and Premier Development grades.

The Premier Development side kicks things off at 1:00pm against a Takapuna outfit that made headlines by putting 100 points on Silverdale two weeks ago, before claiming a default win last weekend. Shore come into this one with strong form of their own — a convincing Round 1 win over Kumeu followed by a much tighter, hard-fought victory over East Coast Bays. This shapes as a genuine contest and one not to miss.

Following that, our Premier A side will finally take the field for their first match of the season after sitting out the opening two rounds due to a bye and a default. There’s plenty of anticipation building around this group, and they’ll be tested straight away. Takapuna opened their campaign with a dominant win over Silverdale and backed it up with a solid 28–17 victory over Helensville last weekend. It’s set up perfectly for a cracking encounter.

Elsewhere, our U21s enjoy a well-earned bye this weekend.

Back at home, our U85kg side host East Coast Bays in their first home game of the season, kicking off at 2:45pm. The clubrooms will be open for the match, so get down and support the team before sticking around for the aftermatch and our 100 Club draw at 6:30pm.
