2026 Club Cup Nomations

North Shore Rugby Club has a proud tradition of recognising the players who embody the values that make our club special. While performance on the field is important, these awards celebrate the qualities that define great teammates and outstanding club members - sportsmanship, commitment, resilience, loyalty, selflessness and respect.

Each trophy honours individuals who have made a lasting contribution to the club's history and recognises players who continue to uphold those same values today.

The whole club community are invited to nominate players they believe best represent the spirit of each award. Please take the time to read the award descriptions before submitting your nominations.

James Gibson Trophy – Grit and Game Vision Award (Female)   ** NEW IN 2026 **

Awarded to the female player who embodies true grit through courage, resilience and unwavering determination. She puts the team first in every contest, combines toughness with outstanding game awareness, and has the vision to create opportunities for those around her. Understanding that great rugby is built on making the team better - not individual glory - she inspires others through her commitment, selflessness and refusal to give in.

Trevor Lyall Cup - Fair Play Award (J5–J8 & U9)

Awarded to the player who best embodies the spirit of rugby through sportsmanship, respect and fair play. This player competes with enthusiasm, treats teammates, opponents and referees with respect, and represents the values of North Shore Rugby Club with pride.

Roy Buchanan Memorial Trophy - Fair Play Award (J1–J4, U11 & U13)

Presented to the player who consistently demonstrates integrity, respect and outstanding sportsmanship. This award recognises someone who plays hard, plays fair, and leads by example, upholding the traditions and values of North Shore Rugby Club.

Gartside Cup - Most Conscientious Player in the Club

Awarded to the player whose dedication, commitment and attitude set the standard for others. This player is dependable, gives their best at every training and game, supports their teammates, and always puts the needs of the team before themselves.

Colin Harvey Trophy  - The Energetic Player Who Was Always in the Game

Presented to the player whose enthusiasm and relentless work rate make them impossible to miss. Whether in attack or defence, this player is always involved, always competing, and brings energy, determination and positivity every time they pull on the Shore jersey.

McKenty Family Award  - Hardest Working Forward

Awarded to the forward who consistently does the hard work that every successful team relies on. Through determination, physicality and selfless effort, this player wins the tough battles, never shies away from the hard yards, and leads by example.

Colin Parry Trophy - Most Loyal to the Club

Presented to a player whose commitment and loyalty to North Shore Rugby Club extend beyond the scoreboard. Through their dedication to the club, their teammates and the wider rugby community, they exemplify what it means to wear the Shore jersey with pride.
